New
2015 was the first harvest of Lo Grau de l'Inquisidor. The objective was to produce a serious wine with the power and depth of flavor of an aged, but also with the freshness that characterizes the wines of the area. The grapes originate from a reliable producer, whose vines, are next to our vineyard Lo Grau of the Inquisitor.
ELABORATION
Manual harvest in small boxes of 15Kg. After spending 24 hours in a cold room, the grapes are destemmed and transferred to a concrete tank to spontaneously begin alcoholic fermentation with their own wild yeast, accompanying the process with light daily
manual punches. FML and aging in 500L French oak barrels for 31 months.
VITICULTURE & VINEYARDS
The strains, 35, are planted at 380 meters above sea level. The soils here are diverse, most of them with surface clay of great iron content. The constant breeze makes them one of the freshest vineyards in Terra Alta.
VARIETATS: Syrah 90% - Garnacha Peluda 10%
D.O. Terra Alta
AWARDS:
95 Jeb Dunnuck
93 James Suckling
At Herència Altés we are yesterday's footprint in our gaze towards tomorrow.
We are land, landscape, culture, history and innovation.
The vineyard, cultivated in an ecological way and the wine in its maximum expression, are protectors of our landscape and guardians of our biodiversity. In the winery, we have an environmental project, which protects the flora and fauna indigenous of our environment.
At home, we follow a philosophy of minimal intervention, we respect the wines to maintain the essence of the fruit and thus achieve a perfect harmony between the hand of man and what the earth gives us.
Our aging room is totally underground, to have the perfect temperature and humidity throughout the year in a sustainable way. We work with large oak foudres, of 5000 and 2500 liters, with the philosophy of making long aging, but with the minimum impact of the wood.
Fresh, serene, polished and friendly wines.
