New
From the 2018 vintage we started a collaboration with Dr. Michel Grupper (confirms the name) and his project in Gratallops, Clos
Pachem. Sharing a philosophy of minimal intervention and the search for maximum expressiveness, we thus began a new LO TUMILET. A 100% Garnacha Tinta wine faithful to the variety and minerality of Priorat, fresh, modern and daring.
D.O.Q: Priorat
CLIMATE
Typical Mediterranean - cold winters and hot summers with low rainfall (400 mm / year).
SOIL TYPE
Disaggregated "licorella" soils and panal. "Licorella" is the Catalan word for slate f loors and this is the component that gives Priorat a special quality. Slopes with a very shallow soil on a bed of crushed slate.
VITICULTURE
Combination of 30-year-old Garnacha Tinta vineyards located in El Molar and Torroja del Priorat. Southeast orientation.
In the vineyards we work according to the parameters of organic farming, also respecting the principles of biodynamics, although
without being certified.
ELABORATION
The selection begins in the vineyards with the manual harvest using small boxes of 12 kg. Once in the winery the grapes are
partially destemmed, leaving 30% as whole clusters to achieve more freshness and structure in the wine. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast.
AGING
Aging 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in 500-litre concrete tanks for 8 months.
TASTING NOTE
Very fresh wine, but with complexity and structure at the same time. The nose awakens a lot of red fruit, f lowers and herbs.
Medium bodied ideal for those who want a Priorat but are not looking for overripe or heavy wines. Long aftertaste. Very versatile
pairing: baked blue fish (sardines), Catalan escudella, salads or grilled red meat.
