Orange wine 100% White Garnacha with 2 years of oxidative aging

Trementinaire refers to the wise women of the mountain, the healers, the witches. Aromas of ointments, herbs, plants, dried orange peel. Evoking times of when a solera barrel of wine was kept beneath every staircase, looked after by the grandmother whose job it was to top it up and ensure it never ran dry. Memories of a past time that endure in the present.

The grapes are harvested by hand. Once in the winery, they are destemming-crushed with a later chilling of the must. 
For 10 days, a skin maceration is carried out at about 5 - 8 º C until the alcoholic fermentation begins.
At a density of 1050, the free run must is separated to another tank to finish the alcoholic fermentation without the skins. The skins and the remaining must stay in the same tank until the end of alcoholic fermentation. Pressing and racking 24 hours later to remove the bulky lees. Transfer to 300 litre 5th use barrels and the start of the oxidative ageing period for 22 months.

Herencia Altés

The new winery of Herència Altés, has an area of 4400 m2, largely subterranean, to merge it to the maximum with the surroundings. We also operate, with renewable energy. We have natural thermal insolation and recycle rainwater. All with the idea of respecting the environment to the maximum.

Our breeding room, is totally underground, to have the perfect temperature and humidity throughout the year in a practically all natural way. We work with wood foudres, large, 5000 and 2500 liters, with the philosophy of making long cries, but with the minimum impact of wood. Warm serene, polished and friendly.

Herència Altés LA XALAMERA 2017

Positioned on the east side of a plateau that slopes towards Gandesa, La Xalamera occupies 15 hectares of classic Terra Alta terroir: a thin top layer of sandy loam resting on a thick slab of calcareous limestone that at points, penetrates the surface. The upper slopes of the valley lie at 442 metres, sloping down to 402 metres, where the soil is slightly more fertile.
